Synopsis
The Paragon and Renegade SIs wake up in orbit above the Earth with orange power rings on their fingers. After unintentionally altering their bodies with their rings, they move to acquire precious metals from the asteroid belt and a change of clothes. They both then spend multiple hours near the New York public library using their rings to find information on superhumans and divergences from their home Earth. During this time they discover the secret identities of the Justice League and many other prominent superhumans. As the sun rises, they call Alan Scott under false pretenses in order to attempt to buy his personal lantern, as they lack an ability to recharge their rings. After a brief interview about superheroes in the '40s, the SIs reveal themselves as Orange Lanterns and attempt to negotiate a price for Alan's personal lantern. Alan calls for Wonder Woman, and a deal is negotiated for the SIs to receive the personal lantern in exchange for a year of following Wonder Woman's or one other person's orders, along with clauses that the SIs cannot volountarily leave the solar system, cannot be forced to follow suicidal orders, and can rescind the agreement by returning the personal lantern to Alan Scott. The SIs and Wonder Woman fly to Themyscira in her plane, they receive word of a group of Harpies holding a passenger boat hostage before reaching the island. After diffusing the situation, the SIs travel to Themyscira and take their oath in a temple of Gaia. The ambient magic causes them to become intoxicated due to their lack of magic resistance from not having a soul. The Paragon SI then acquires a gun and shooting lessons, starts removing plastic from the oceans, and does flying practice with Wonder Woman. Later, both SIs are introduced to the Team, where Batman is declared as the other individual whose orders the SIs must follow.
